BENEFITS OF HAND WASHING WITH SOAP
Hand washing is on everyone’s radar these days. It is noted as one of the best ways to protect yourself from Coronavirus (Covid-19) and prevent its spread. It is really that simple? Soap is an amazing product that surrounds that microbes and allows them to be washed away. With the coronavirus, it actually disrupts the virus coating making it nearly impossible to infect the host (that would be the person washing their hands). The important thing is to wash for a full 20 seconds and dry your hands thoroughly.
Liquid and bar soap are equally effective at cleaning since the same function applies. Liquid soap is watered down so don’t be stingy when using liquid soap. Get a good lather going and don’t rush.
CAN BAR SOAP TRANSMIT GERMS?
In a word, no. Tests have shown that germs are not transmitted by bar soap. Even controlled tests were done where a scientist covered their hands with bacteria and used bar soap to wash their hands. A second scientist then washed his hands using the same bar of soap. None of the bacteria was transferred to the second scientist. And, you might ask, was the first scientist’s hands clean after washing? They were. Similarly, bars of soap injected with the nastiest of bacteria did not transmit the germs to the user.

Bar soaps last longer when allowed to dry out between uses. We offer wooden soap holders for this. Our soaps are packaged in a muslin draw-string bag which can be hung to dry between use (suction cup with hook is also available) or use it as a travel bag.
